Bayelsa at Nigerian National Sports Festival 2024: How It All Began

Before any game began, the Torch of Unity arrived in Bayelsa. It was received by none other than Governor, Sen. Douye Diri, who was represented by his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, sent a clear message to the nation: Bayelsa isn’t just here for the vibes, we’re here for victory. Bayelsa has taken sports as a major tool to take our youths away from crime because every youth into sports can hardly be a criminal. We are also using it to control drugs because drugs and sports are opposite to each other. Diri Receives Torch of Unity
